Bracelet Size Guide
What Size Bracelet
Do I Actually Need?
Finding your bracelet size takes less than two minutes. This guide covers how to measure your wrist, what size fits most women, and what to do if you’re buying a gift and have no idea what size she wears.
What Size Do
Most Women Wear?
The average woman’s wrist is around 15cm–17cm. Add 1–2cm of extra room so the bracelet can move naturally — and you get a bracelet size of roughly 16cm–19cm.
Most women land somewhere in that range. If someone asks what an 18cm bracelet size feels like: on an average wrist, it sits with a little room to move. On a slightly larger wrist, it fits snugly. Both are fine — it depends on how you like to wear it.
Sits close, minimal movement
Comfortable with natural movement
Easy fit, relaxed drape
Not sure which category you’re in? Measure your wrist first (it takes 30 seconds) — then come back to this chart.

How to Measure
Your Wrist at Home
You don’t need a measuring tape. A strip of paper and a ruler work just as well.
The whole thing takes about 30 seconds.
Use a flexible measuring tape, a strip of paper, or a piece of string. Wrap it around your wrist just below the wrist bone — where you’d normally wear a bracelet. Keep it snug but not tight. You should be able to slide one finger underneath.
No tape measure? A piece of paper torn into a 1cm-wide strip works perfectly. If you’re using paper or string, use a pen to mark exactly where the end meets the rest of the strip. That mark gives you your wrist circumference.
Lay the paper or string flat on a ruler and measure the length to your mark. That’s your wrist size. Then add 1–2cm to get your ideal bracelet length. If your wrist is 15.5cm and you like a comfortable fit, look for a bracelet around 17cm.
Add 1cm for a snug fit. Add 2cm for a relaxed, moving fit.The Size Chart —

The bracelet sizes on the right give you two options: one for a closer fit, one for a looser fit.

| Your Wrist Size | Snug Fit Bracelet | Relaxed Fit Bracelet | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|
| 13cm or under | 14cm | 15cm | Very slim wrist — look for adjustable styles |
| 14cm | 15cm | 16cm | Small wrist, slim chains work best |
| 15cm | 16cm | 17cm | On the smaller side of average |
| 15.5–16cm | 17cm | 18cm Most popular | Average wrist — 18cm bracelet size fits well here |
| 16–17cm | 17–18cm | 18–19cm Common | Standard average woman wrist size for bracelet |
| 17cm | 18cm | 19cm | Slightly larger than average, still very standard |
| 18cm | 19cm | 20cm | Larger wrist — adjustable styles give the most flexibility |
| 19cm or over | 20cm | 21cm+ | Look for adjustable or extendable chains |
Wrists can be up to 0.5cm larger in the evening than in the morning. If you measured in the morning and plan to wear the bracelet all day, add a little extra.

Snug or Loose —
Which Fit Is Right for You?
There’s no wrong answer here. It’s personal preference.
The type of bracelet matters too — a fine chain feels different at the same length than a heavier linked style.
The bracelet sits close to the wrist and doesn’t slide around much. Good if you find dangling jewelry distracting, or if you wear it alongside a watch. A name bracelet worn snug means the engraving faces outward consistently.
The bracelet moves naturally and you’ll feel it against your skin as you move. This is the look you see in most jewelry photos — a little drape, a little movement. Works well for stacking multiple bracelets together.
What Size Bracelet
Do Men Actually Wear?
The average man’s wrist measures between 17cm and 19cm — about 2–3cm larger than the average woman’s. Add 1–2cm of comfortable room, and the most common men’s bracelet sizes fall between 19cm and 21cm. A bracelet labelled “one size” is almost always made with women in mind and often runs too small for men.

| Wrist Size | Snug Fit Bracelet | Relaxed Fit Bracelet | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|
| Under 16cm | 17cm | 18cm | Slim wrist — adjustable styles work best |
| 16cm | 17–18cm | 18–19cm | On the smaller side for men |
| 17cm | 18cm | 19cm | Smaller than average, still common |
| 17.5–18cm | 19cm | 20cm Most popular | Average man’s wrist — 20cm bracelet fits well |
| 18–19cm | 20cm | 21cm Common | Standard average — most men’s bracelets target this range |
| 19cm | 20–21cm | 21–22cm | Slightly larger than average |
| 20cm | 21cm | 22cm | Larger wrist — look for adjustable or extended sizes |
| 21cm or over | 22cm | 23cm+ | Large build — adjustable styles essential |
Most standard men’s bracelets are sold in 19cm, 20cm, or 21cm. If none of these work, an adjustable bracelet removes the sizing problem entirely.
Men’s vs Women’s
What’s Actually Different
Men’s and women’s bracelets aren’t interchangeable — the size difference is real and consistent.
- ⚪ Average wrist: 15–16cm
- ⚪ Most common size: 17cm
- ⚪ Tend to prefer closer fit
- ⚪ Often stack multiple bracelets
- ⚪ “One size” usually fits
- ✦ Average wrist: 17–19cm
- ✦ Most common size: 20cm
- ✦ Tend to prefer looser fit
- ✦ Usually wear one bracelet at a time
- ✦ “One size” often too small
“The average men’s wrist is about 2–3cm larger than the average women’s wrist. A bracelet that fits most women will fit fewer than half of men — which is why checking the size matters more for men than it typically does for women.”
