Children’s Bracelet Size Guide
Child’s Bracelet Length —
A Complete Guide by Age
Children’s wrists are significantly smaller than adult wrists — and they change quickly. A bracelet that fits a three-year-old won’t fit the same child at six. Getting the right child’s bracelet length matters both for comfort and for safety: a bracelet that’s too tight restricts circulation, and one that’s too loose can slip off or — for very young children — become a hazard. This guide covers the standard bracelet sizes for children at every age from newborn to teenage, how to measure a child’s wrist, and what to do when buying a personalized kids bracelet as a gift without knowing the exact size.
The short version: most children’s bracelet sizes range from 10cm (newborn) to 16cm (teenager). The most commonly purchased children’s bracelet length is 14–15cm, which fits children aged roughly 4–10. If you’re buying as a gift and don’t know the child’s wrist size, an adjustable bracelet removes the guesswork entirely.

Child’s Bracelet Length
at Every Stage
Children’s wrists grow fastest in the first three years and more slowly after that. Here’s what to expect at each stage — and what bracelet length to look for.

Infant wrists are tiny and grow rapidly in the first year. A newborn typically measures around 9–10cm at the wrist; by 12 months this reaches 10–11cm. Infant bracelets should allow 1–2cm of ease and should always be worn with adult supervision. Adjustable styles are strongly recommended at this age.

Toddler wrists are still small but growing steadily. A bracelet in the 12–14cm range with 1–2cm of ease sits comfortably without slipping over the hand. At this age, children are highly active — avoid bracelets with small charms or beads that could come loose.
→ 13cm is a safe default for most toddlers when you don’t know the exact wrist size.yrs
The most common children’s bracelet size falls in this range. Wrist growth slows compared to the toddler years, so a bracelet bought at age 5 may still fit at age 7. At this stage, children can begin to appreciate personalised bracelets — a name or initial starts to feel meaningful. 15cm is the most purchased single length for this age group.
→ 15cm with 1–2cm ease works for most children in this age range.yrs
At this age, children’s wrists begin approaching adult proportions — particularly for girls, whose wrist size often stabilises in the 14–16cm range by age 12. A 16cm bracelet fits most children in this group and will likely still fit in early teen years. Standard adult women’s bracelets (17–18cm) may be slightly long but work with an adjustable clasp.
→ 16cm is a good choice for children aged 9–12 who are approaching adult sizing.yrs
Most teenagers can wear adult bracelet sizes. Girls typically fit standard women’s sizing (16–18cm); boys at this age are closer to men’s sizing (18–20cm). An adult women’s bracelet at 17cm works for most teenage girls.

Two-Minute MethodHow to Measure a
Child’s Wrist for a Bracelet
Measuring a child’s wrist is similar to measuring an adult’s — but children are less patient, so speed matters. Here’s the fastest reliable method.
Wrap it around the child’s wrist just above the wrist bone — where a bracelet would naturally sit. Keep it snug but not tight. For very young children, measure while they’re calm or asleep for the most accurate result.
No tape measure? String + ruler works just as well. Mark where the string meets itself, then measure flat.Add 1–2cm to the measured wrist circumference to get the bracelet length. For children aged 1–8, add 2cm. For older children and tweens, add 1.5cm. More ease allows movement; less ease gives a snugger look.
Example: wrist measures 13cm + 2cm ease = 15cm bracelet. This is the most common bracelet size for children aged 7–10.Children’s wrists grow approximately 0.5–1cm per year in the 4–10 age range. If a child is between sizes, round up rather than down — a slightly loose bracelet is safer than a tight one, and will last longer before being outgrown. An adjustable clasp extends the usable life of any bracelet.
Getting the Right Size
Without Measuring
“When buying a child’s bracelet as a gift and you’re unsure — always go slightly larger. A bracelet that’s a little loose can be grown into. One that’s too small goes unworn.”

Children’s wrists grow fast. A fixed-length bracelet may only fit for 12–18 months before being outgrown. An adjustable bracelet — with a sliding clasp or extender chain — grows with the child and avoids the sizing problem entirely. Our kids bracelet with name is adjustable and can be engraved with any name, cutout design of your choice — a gift that fits now and continues to fit as they grow.
Children’s Bracelet Length —
The Short Version
Children’s bracelet sizes run from approximately 10cm for newborns to 17–18cm for teenagers. The most common children’s bracelet size is 14–16cm, covering children aged roughly 4–12. When buying as a gift, use the age chart as a starting point and size up if you’re between options. For children under two, adjustable bracelets are strongly recommended — their wrists change too quickly for a fixed-length piece to remain wearable for long.
